Overview

A large private university in upstate New York, within a short drive of the Finger Lakes and the Adirondacks, Syracuse’s goal is to put “scholarship into action” – and it certainly does with SU graduates. However, Syracuse’s consistent excellence is often overlooked, since a number of smaller, elite liberal arts schools are all within a short drive (Colgate, Amherst, Williams, Hamilton, Cornell, Skidmore and Vassar). Syracuse is well known for the strength of its communications, architecture and social sciences departments.
